Hi, I’m SoonJoo, the creator of Fashion Wanderer. I graduated from college with a BFA in fashion design. Afterwards, I pursued an extensive career in fashion design with over 15 years of professional industry experience.
Instructors recognized my talents early on, and I graduated as a leader within my class. I was awarded winning fashion designs for the Trina Turk’s Haute Garden Party and also for creating new couture gowns based on Disney princesses. As a result, I received internship opportunities for industry leading brands like Guess and Mattel.
I worked as a professional lead fashion designer for over 10 years and had the opportunity to design for major brands like Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Stitch Fix, Macy’s, Anthropologie, Dillard’s and many indie boutiques around the US.
From the vast industry experience, I learned about trendy clothing, seasonal forecasting, and the industrial processes of clothing production, manufacturing and distribution. Furthermore, I understand clothing construction, fashion design, textile manufacturing, garment dye, and material fabrication.
I launched Fashion Wanderer to share my industry experience with DIY fashionistas. I enjoy the process of transforming old clothes into current fashion trends and wearable styles.
Follow the journey with me and lets’ revamp our wardrobe with sewing patterns, upcycle clothing and DIY accessories. Share your DIY clothing and refashion projects with me at #FashionWanderer!
